Welcome to Jane Sheehan (pictured) the Independent Tenants' Committee's first staff member, working exclusively for SBHA tenants in our new venture, intouch@ sbha.
Jane, based at our Chiswick office, is the link between SBHA tenants, staff and committees.

Jane will be looking for new ways to encourage tenant participation involving tenants in the decision making process and ensuring tenants feel part of the organisation. New tenants forums will be established and much more.

"I'm looking at new methods of tenant participation. Not everyone wants to attend a meeting but they still want a vehicle for input. I'll be looking into other ways for tenants to get involved." said Jane Sheehan.

Tenant's Associations will also benefit from Jane's new role she will be offering to assist them with their meetings ensuring they do their minutes, paperwork and their newsletters. Jane will also be looking to establish new tenant associations in areas where they do not exist at the current time.

The role also stretches to one of monitoring. Jane is involved in revitalising the mystery shopper programme which is just one tool used to monitor the service that Shepherds Bush Housing Association provides.

Jane said "Monitoring the services means we can assess the impact of those services SBHA provides and that the service provided is accessible to all tenants."
